AI Literacy Skills for YouthBuild
About
This video offers practical ideas for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) literacy in the classroom and upskilling resources for educators preparing to teach these critical skills. It also includes concrete examples of AI integration in construction, healthcare, and manufacturing, and walks through a scenario using local labor market information. Program directors, educators, trainers, job developers, and other staff can find free curricula options, trainings, learning games, and tools.
Beginning in 2026, new YouthBuild grantees must integrate AI literacy skills in the classroom component of the program. DOL also encourages grantees to integrate AI literacy skills in occupational training and on the work site.
This video is a recording of a live plenary session at the YouthBuild Convening that took place in March 2026.
It aligns with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Artificial Intelligence Literacy Framework (TEN 07-25).
