How do I know when mental illness rises to the level of a protected psychiatric disability? How can I best serve youth with psychiatric disabilities and avoid generalizations? What do reasonable accommodations look like? How can I help youth with psychiatric disabilities thrive in workforce development programs and in the workplace? This video is a useful tool for workforce development practitioners who serve youth, including case managers, classroom teachers, and job developers.
This webcast is an update and redesign of technical assistance written by the DOL Office of Disability and Employment Policy (ODEP) on behalf of the YouthBuild program in 2010. This edition is presented by the U.S. Department of Labor Division of Youth Services, including YouthBuild, Reentry Employment Opportunities, and WIOA Youth formula programs.
