YouthBuild

Pre-apprenticeship program for young people who face barriers to employment

About

YouthBuild

YouthBuild is a workforce development pre-apprenticeship program administered by the US Department of Labor’s (DOL) Employment and Training Administration (ETA) that provides education, training, and wraparound supportive services to young people who face barriers to employment. YouthBuild participants must be between the ages of 16 and 24.

For more information, please visit https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/youth/youthbuild or email youth.build@dol.gov.

This checklist is designed for YouthBuild program directors, job developers, and other program staff who are exploring, developing, or strengthening relationships with Registered Apprenticeship (RA) partners. Whether your program is beginning to identify apprenticeship opportunities in your community or preparing for a conversation with an established RA sponsor, you can use this tool to plan and strategize.
